ISTQB Exam Eligibility
Who is eligible for the ISTQB exams?
- Everyone is eligible for the ISTQB Foundation Level Certification exam.
- Everyone who has passed the ISTQB Foundation Level exam is eligible for any ISTQB Specialist exam as well as the ISTQB Agile Tester (Foundation Level) exam. This includes ISTQB Performance Testing, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer, ISTQB Automotive Software Tester, ISTQB Usability Testing, ISTQB Acceptance Testing, ISTQB Gambling Industry Tester, ISTQB Mobile Application Tester, ISTQB Security Tester, ISTQB Model-Based Tester, and ISTQB AI Testing.
- Everyone who has passed the ISTQB Foundation Level exam prior to version 4.0 and the ISTQB Agile Tester (Foundation Level) exam is eligible for the ISTQB Agile Technical Tester exam. Everyone who passed ISTQB Foundation Level 4.0 and greater is also eligible for the ISTQB Agile Technical Tester exam.
- Everyone who has passed the ISTQB Foundation Level exam and has sufficient industry experience is eligible for the ISTQB Core Advanced Level exams: ISTQB Test Manager, ISTQB Test Analyst, and ISTQB Technical Test Analyst.
- Everyone who has passed the ISTQB Foundation Level exam and the ISTQB Advanced Test Manager exam and has suitable practical experience and five years of industry experience is eligible for the three ISTQB Expert Level Test Management exams: ISTQB Strategic Test Management, ISTQB Operational Test Management, and ISTQB Managing the Test Team.
