Each exam has a syllabus, practice exams, and online glossary. They are all available at no charge. Both the syllabus and practice exams are great resources. Also, they are the primary study materials most people use when preparing for your exam. What about the glossary? It is actually a great resource that might get overlooked occasionally. Now, no one is suggesting you sit down and memorize the entire glossary, it would be too time-consuming. Did you know you could select the exam you are preparing for with the online glossary and it will filter terms based on the exam? Also, go through the syllabus and practice exams and highlight all the key terms discussed. Do you know the meanings of these? If not, use the ISTQB online glossary to see what the full meaning of these terms are. For example, one practice exam question for the ISTQB Foundation level exam is: “When following the fundamental test process, when should the test control activity take place?” Do you know the true definition of test process? What about test control? If you are unsure, these would be important terms to look up. It would help to clarify and solidify certain knowledge that is needed for each exam.
