These 10 test manager insights are courtesy of our guest, Debbie Friedenberg. Debbie began her career in software testing more than 30 years ago, and during that time, has watched the IT industry grow, change and mature. Debbie has experience working in organizations ranging from the smallest of start-ups to one of the largest financial services firms in the US, and has experience managing teams varying in size from a single tester to a geographically distributed team comprised of 90 testers, leads and managers. Over the course of her career, she has worked in a variety of domains including consumer applications, geographic information systems, e-commerce systems, financial services systems, and network administration tools.

Debbie has practical experience working with systems of systems, integration testing, and in the testing of transactional systems and data flows. She also has led large-scale data conversion efforts, and has developed and managed defect management and metrics programs and the organizational level. Debbie has volunteered with the American Software Testing Qualifications Board (ASTQB) since 2007, serving in key leadership roles on the ASTQB Board of Directors, including President. She is co-author of the ISTQB Expert Test Manager and Foundation Level Syllabi.
