Your ISTQB certification from ASTQB gives you a competitive edge in your profession, so take advantage of it.

Display and mention of your ISTQB certification from ASTQB is good for your career. However, ISTQB certification carries responsibilities and requirements.

As a holder of an ISTQB certificate, you shall:

  1. Comply with the relevant provisions of the certification;
  2. Make claims regarding certification only with respect to the scope for which
    certification has been granted;
  3. Not use the certification in such a manner as to bring the board into disrepute, and not
    to make any statement regarding the certification which the member board may
    consider misleading or unauthorized;
  4. Discontinue the use of all claims to certification that contains any reference to the
    member board or certification upon suspension or withdrawal of certification, and to
    return any certificates issued by the member board, and
  5. Not use the certificate in a misleading manner.

Note the following:

  • Inappropriate references to the certification or misleading use of any ISTQB certificates and logos in publications, catalogues, etc. will be addressed with appropriate corrective measures, such as the suspension or withdrawal of any/all ISTQB certification, publication of the infraction and, if appropriate, legal action.
  • The member board maintains sole ownership of the certificates.

Here are some additional helpful practical notes on usage:

A certified logo may not be altered in any way, such as changing proportions or writing on or within the logo.

You may display the logo(s) of only those certifications that are currently valid. There is a separate certified logo for each certification.

Use of a certified logo or certification statement is a privilege extended only to individuals whose certification is in good standing. You are only permitted to use or display the logo with a valid certification and not for any other purpose, according to the ASTQB Terms of Use. We reserve the right to apply disciplinary action as outlined in the our code of ethics.

It should be noted that your certification is specific to an individual, not an organization. Therefore, it is important that organizational communication distinguish the scope of the certification.

  • It is not correct to say that your organization is certified.
  • However, it is allowable to say that the organization employs or utilizes individuals who are certified by ASTQB.
