What is usability testing?

Usability testing refers to evaluating software by testing it with representative users. Typically users will attempt to complete typical tasks while observers watch, listen and take notes. The goal is to identify any usability problems, collect data and determine the users’ satisfaction with the product.

See the recorded webinar, “Usability Testing in a Nutshell – Introducing the New ASTQB Certification”, to learn more about this new usability testing certification. You will also want to see the usability syllabus and sample exam questions and answers above.

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (ISTQB CTFL) certification is a prerequisite for this certification.

As with all testing certifications, be certain to register for your exam only through ASTQB (this site) so you appear in the official list of U.S. Certified Testers.
