If you are a U.S. veteran or eligible dependent, you may be able to have your ISTQB exam fees reimbursed through the GI Bill® when you take your exams through ASTQB and AT*SQA. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has approved a growing list of ISTQB certifications for exam reimbursement, giving you a way to strengthen your software testing career while using your hard-earned benefits.
Note: If you search for ISTQB certifications on the VA site, type “istqb” (without the quotes) and click on “istqb (__ results)” to see all of the approved courses, as there are many more approved ISTQB certifications through ASTQB and AT*SQA than are shown in the preview. Alternatively, you can type the full certification name, but it will need to include the appropriate abbreviations, making it very difficult to do correctly.
Currently approved ISTQB exams include:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Management
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Analyst
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Technical Test Analyst
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Security Tester
- ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineering (TAE)
- ISTQB Certified Tester Acceptance Testing
- ISTQB Certified Tester Agile Tester
- ISTQB Certified Tester Model-Based Tester
- ISTQB Certified Tester Performance Testing
- ISTQB Certified Tester Usability Testing
- ISTQB Certified Tester Gambling Industry Tester
- ISTQB Certified Tester Game Testing Tester
- ISTQB Certified Tester Mobile Application Testing
- ISTQB Certified Tester Automotive Software Tester
Additional ISTQB certifications will be added once they meet the VA’s timing requirements.
If you are seeking credentialing reimbursement through a DOD COOL program (Navy, Army, Air Force & Space Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or DOD Civilian COOL), see the ASTQB / ISTQB Certification Plus™ information for details.
