The number of U.S. job openings asking for ISTQB certification is growing. Based on what we're hearing, many U.S. businesses appear to be cautiously optimistic and are expanding. Because they use ISTQB certification across their team, it makes it easier for them to get new hires up to speed when they already have ISTQB certification.
ISTQB certification is moving from a "nice-to-have" to a "must-have" in U.S. job postings. We also saw a posting from a major video game company yesterday that required Advanced Level, not just Foundation Level (the "nice-to-have" in this case was ISTQB Expert Level). This is consistent with the recommendations on how to staff a software testing team.

A Bright Outlook
O*NET, a service of the U.S. Department of Labor, has designated Software Quality Assurance Analysts and Testers as an occupation with a "Bright Outlook."
That means the occupation is expected to grow rapidly in the next several years, or will have large numbers of job openings.
